It really is the most wonderful time of the year for us at Operation Thank an Officer. But perhaps not for the reason you think. Although we love the holidays, we love our scholarships even more.
Four years ago, when we decided to add a scholarship program, I never could have dreamed at where it would go. The first year, there were around 30 applications. Last year, we had nearly 100 applications from 32 different states. Reading the achievements, volunteerism and essays of these applicants leaves me optimistic about the future leaders that are among these scholarship applicants.
Thank you for visiting Operation Thank an Officer. My personal motto has always been, “What more can I do?’ With our brand new website, you’ll be able to help us grow as an organization.
I grew up with a parent wearing blue. We sat in the back of restaurants so he could scan the room. He often attended my recitals and games late and in uniform, but he always came. My dad has been a police officer for over fifteen years. In the year of 2003, my father set out on his journey to becoming a police officer.
Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by Minnesota Community Foundation and many other organizations committed to helping make our state a better place.
To celebrate the launch of our new website, Operation Thank an Officer is giving too!
